"Weekly Warrior Page" - Week of July 11th

If you haven't noticed, crossfit thrives on personal accomplishments and pushing yourself beyond what you believe you can do at times (or should I say MOST of the time). Personally, I have been a gym rat most of my life...you know, going around in circles on an eliptical machine or spin bike then working bi's and tri's one day then quads and hams the next, etc. You get the picture. I'd walk out the gym doors thinking "I did my workout, so good for me". I had sweat on my brow so I was good to go. No real goals or much of a desire to find that inner competitor. Just 'A WORKOUT'. So after being part of crossfit, as many of you know, you begin to develop those 'proud moments'...such as "Man, I deadlifted 20 more pounds than last time!" Or "Wow I can't believe I finished that WOD under 8 minutes!" Many times we want to shout it out but don't...so here's your chance!!!

I figured why not post a WEEKLY blog where CLF crossfitters can just out right brag about something great that they did this week? Be proud of your moments and share them with the CLF community weekly on this blog. Be on the lookout for the post by the end of each week! The only rule is try to choose JUST ONE moment that you really shined on! I'd really like as many people as possible to comment so to get things rolling, I'll start. See how I posted my comment below and then follow my lead!!! I'm excited to see what crossfit moment you're most proud of this past week!!! Rock on!!!

  1. After being on vacation for over a week I was happy that I completed Fran RX 3 minutes faster, finishing with only 1 torn callus and not puking! :) - Monica

Ok, now it's your turn! Who's next?!?!

  2. My shining moment by Coach Amy-Waking up on Monday morning and checking the blog and see 'FRAN', the WOD I HATE THE MOST...butterflies in my stomach, dread and sweaty palms I drive to the box. My goal is 7min trying to beat my previous time of 9:13. I yell 'time' and the clock says 5:59!!! SHOCK, SUPRISE AND ELATION WERE THE FEELINGS AT THAT MOMENT!!!

  4. My awesome moment of this week: Fran-I hate her, by the way...slowly shaved a minute or so off my time and did it Rx for the first time! And, yes, I do really hate her! :) Alison

  6. My "KB" moment was first doing a deadlift/box jump/400 meter WOD....followed by, this is the KB moment (smart or not) max deadlifting 30 lbs more than my previous max. As Jerry would say, I'm building my engine and its getting bigger. --Endurance Coach Ryan T.

  7. My proud moment of the week was during Tuesday's strength portion of the workout. We were doing box squats, 7 rounds of 4 at about 3/4 of my one rep max. I did my box squats and counted the weight, 115 lbs!!! The last time I tried to do 1 rep at 115, I barely got the bar down and back up and Jerry told me to rack it to lower my weight to 95 lbs. So 7 sets of 4 was great for me. -Jackie-
